Get to know me.
Strong communities, informed decisions, a better future.
I believe in a city where people can thrive, businesses can succeed, and taxpayers can trust that their money is invested wisely. As a proud Medicine Hat resident, I’m running for City Council to be a strong, common-sense voice for our community.

Hi, thanks for being here!
My name is Kirsten Spek, I'm coming up on 12 years as a resident of Medicine Hat and I love this city fiercely.
I moved to Medicine Hat from Fort McMurray with no plan just the dream of finding something different for myself, little did I know we would spend over a decade building new businesses and starting a family here.
Shortly after moving here I met my husband and 2 years later we purchased Couture Hair & Beauty. We moved that business from a rental on Dunmore Road to a building we purchased on North Railway Street. Over the last 6 years we've continued to purchase and renovate buildings on North Railway Street leasing them to small businesses with the hope that these local entrepreneurs will not just survive, but thrive! I have dedicated the last 5 years to championing small business, specifically female entrepreneurs.
I spent 2 years on the board of directors for the Medicine Hat Chamber of Commerce as well as dedicating time to the Medicine Hat Women's Shelter.
For the last 4 years I have been working in production logistics in the oil field while maintaining our businesses and commercial properties.
There is nothing more important to me than my family, my community and the work we've done with our local small businesses. I want to see Medicine Hat become the best version of itself for everyone here.
